We'll dance at the LaSalle School in the afternoon. -1PM After 5:00 or so, we will break for a potluck dinner. We’ll go to Russ’s house to eat dinner. (We will coordinate what food items to bring, when we know who will do that task.) At 7:00 we will be at the Salvation Army Gym as usual. (Those coming from out of town, come directly to the school. If you have a tent to set up at Russ's, then you can set up after the pot luck at Russ’s and before dancing at the Salvation Army Gym; if you want to.) Directions to the old school are as follows: Drive up Hwy. 2 toward Glacier Intl. Airport. Across from the north end of the airport is large blue hanger across the street is a railroad siding where there is usually a row of boxcars. Look for Pioneer Rd. that crosses the railroad tracks and drive about 1/4 mi. east. You will see the school on the corner of the Olsen Machine Park and go into the gate down a little ways (south) of the school. Directions to Russ Conn's house: Location is 1800 Conn Road, Columbia Falls. 2 miles west of the intersection of Hwy 2 (Where the Blue Moon Bar is) and Hwy 40. Turn left (south) on to Conn Rd.(marked by a Driscoll Plumbing & Heating sign, also there is a left turn lane) Go for 3/4 mile, house is on the right (west). If you're coming from the direction of Hwy 93 instead of the Blue Moon, Conn Rd. is the first county road, that goes south after Whitefish Stage Rd. North of Hwy 40 it's called Dillon Rd, south of 40 it's Conn Rd--one of our famous county road-naming switcheroos.) Russ If you need better directions, call Russ at 1-406-862-3456 Directions to the Salvation Army Gym, where we dance every Saturday 7-10pm From the intersection of Hwy 2 and Hwy 93, turn north toward Whitefish. About a mile and a half or so, at the top of the hill (golf course was on your right at the bottom of the hill), at the stop light turn right on to Conway Drive. A little ways down the road, you'll see the Kalispell Regional Medical Center -Emergency Room entrance on your left. Turn right at the helipad (Claremont) and go by the NW. Professional blgd. turn left onto Bountiful (It looks like part of the parking lot), and the Salvation Army is on the end. The address is 110 Bountiful Dr. The right hand doors will be unlocked. It's a large brick building. We will be able to dance until 11 o'clock Saturday night. More folk dancing Sunday morning in Russ's famous "chicken house.” Sunday we'll cook up breakfast in Russ's kitchen, like we did last year. Some thought that was one of the nicest parts of the weekend. Then we can dance again, at the LaSalle School or the chicken house, depending on how many want to dance. Any suggestions, comments, corrections, you have are welcome! Till next time, Roger
