Greetings to All,

Here are the dances and dancers who had all that fun at last Saturday's Flathead Valley Folkdancers
gathering. We welcomed four new dancers from the Eureka area: Lonny, Tammy, Gary and Brio (with apologies
for any mis-spellings). All four did a heck of a lot better than I ever did at my first session! Lonny &
Tammy are working on a possible contra dance in Trego on Sept. 15.

We will dance again this Saturday, June 16, 7-10 pm, at the Salvation Army Gym, 110 Bountiful Drive, a
block south of Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

The following weekend, June 23-24, we host the annual Flathead Folkdancers Camp and Stamp. (Actually, Russ and
Missy do most of the hosting. Special thanks to them!) Plan to join with other folkdancers from around
Montana for a weekend of camping and dancing in the Flathead Valley. Details follow at the end, along with
a reminder of the Polka Festival in late July.

CAMP AND STAMP - June 23 and 24

Traditional schedule from past years has included dancing at the old LaSalle School on Saturday
afternoon, with a potluck dinner in late afternoon and a break for campers to set up at Russ Conn's place on
Conn Road not far away. Evening dancing resumes from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Kalispell Salvation Army Gym (our
usual venue). Campers and hardy dancers may then adjourn to Russ's place, sometimes for more dancing in
the fabled Chicken House. Informal potluck breakfast and dancing at Russ's on Sunday morning. We should
have final details next week, if there are any changes. Or contact Russ lilshop AT centurytel DOT net

Directions to the old LaSalle School are as follows:
From Kalispell take U.S. Hwy. 2 north to Glacier International. Airport. Across from the north end of
the airport is a railroad siding where there is usually a row of boxcars. Look for Pioneer Rd. that
crosses the railroad tracks and drive about 1/4 mi. east. You will see the school on the corner of the
Olsen Machine Park. Enter via the gate just south of the school.

Directions to the Salvation Army Gym, where we dance every Saturday 7-10 pm:
From the intersection of Hwy 2 and Hwy 93 in Kalispell, go north toward Whitefish. After a mile and
a half or so, at the top of the hill (golf course was on your right at the bottom of the hill), turn right
at the stop light on to Conway Drive. A little ways down the road you'll see the Kalispell Regional
Medical Center -Emergency Room entrance on your left. Turn right at the helipad (Claremont) and go by the
Northwest Professional Building. Turn left onto Bountiful (it looks like part of the parking lot), and
the Salavation Army is on the end. The address is 110 Bountiful Drive. The right hand doors will be
unlocked. It's a large brick building.

POLKA FEST July 20-22

The 3rd Annual Northwest Montana Polka Festival will be held in the Flathead Valley July 20-22. There will
be music and dancing for all ages with an emphasis on polkas and waltzes; however many styles of music will
be presented. Some of the crowd pleasers will include country, big band, standards, Latin, Hawaiian, and
Cajun. Two bands will be featured at this new event - The Al Lindborg Band from Polson, Montana and the
Little Bohemian Band from Albany, Oregon. The dances will be held at the Kalispell Eagles Lodge #234.

It's a beautiful ballroom with a wooden dance floor and air conditioning. Food and beverages will be
available. There will be lots of fun for everyone with guest appearances and daily door prizes. The dances on
Friday will be held from 4:00pm to 11:00pm, Saturday's dances will be from 1:00pm to 12:00am, and Sunday's
dances will be from 1:00pm to 6:00pm.
