Howdy Dancers,

The Kalispell International Folk Dancers will meet again Saturday July 25th at
the usual venue, the Salvation Army Church gym at 110 Bountiful Drive a block
south of Kalispell Regional Hospital. Have your requests ready. We had a good
(if warm) session last weekend, despite competition from summer backpack trips,
the Shy Bear contra dance in Arlee, etc. Rose & I will be off hiking in in Glacier
Park this weekend (think of it as trolling for grizzly bears). So we will miss the
Kalispell dancing but hope to do some dances under the satrs at Sperry Saturday
night with help from a little mp3 player.

For those who missed the National Folk Festival in Butte two weekends ago, you
will have one more chance to check it out next year (second weekend in July).
It was a good time once again, with lots of diverse music and events. If anything,
I'd say it is starting to outgrow the venues. There were a couple of performances
that we couldn't even get near! Special belated thanks to Cecelia for all her work
in organizing a Saturday morning folk dance that drew at least 30 dancers from as
far as Arizona and Texas, including Ron Houston (and family) from Austin, who puts
out the Folk Dance Directory. And thanks to Max & Eva for coming up with the
charming dance venue at St. John's Episcopal Church.
